Fitbit Air is Google's screenless tracker. The Google Store lists it from $99.99. The housing is 34.9 x 17 x 8.3 mm and weighs 5.2 g without a band, or 12 g with the included Performance Loop band. Google's spec page lists an optical heart-rate sensor, a 3-axis accelerometer and gyroscope, red and infrared sensors for SpO2, Bluetooth 5.0, and water resistance to 50 meters. Battery life is up to 7 days, a full charge takes about 90 minutes, and Google says five minutes on the charger is about a day of use. The band stores 7 days of detailed motion and 30 days of daily totals. Readings live in the Google Health app on Android and iOS. A Google account is required. Google's launch post also describes heart-rhythm monitoring with AFib alerts and a skin-temperature estimate. This review does not treat that announcement as an FDA clearance record. A three-month Google Health Premium trial is included. After that, Premium is $9.99 a month or $99.99 a year for coaching and other paid features. Most of the tracking set is available without it.
