Expert Review Summary

Our clinical assessment and verdict for each device

Fitbit Air

Recommended

"The lightest and cheapest band in the group, with a 7-day battery and an optional coaching fee."

Fitbit Air scores 86/100: App Experience 88, Measurement Accuracy 86, Hardware and Wearability 86, Overall Value 85. Google sells it from $99.99. The module is 5.2 g, water resistance is listed to 50 meters, and battery life is up to 7 days with a fast top-up. Heart rate, SpO2, sleep, and a skin-temperature estimate show in the Google Health app. Google advertises AFib alerts. A three-month Premium trial is in the box. The coach after that costs $9.99 a month or $99.99 a year. The 86 is an editorial score of Google's published specs, not a Medgrade wearing study.

Oxiline Band XS Pro

Highly Recommended

"An excellent screenless tracker combining particularly capable sleep detection, extended battery life, comfortable all-day wear, and detailed health insights without subscription fees."

The Oxiline Band XS Pro was an excellent performer during our 12-week evaluation with eight users, earning 95/100 overall. Measurement Accuracy scored 95, App Experience 94, Hardware & Wearability 93, and Overall Value 96. Sleep tracking was a highlight: the band frequently distinguished light wakefulness, including reading or watching television in bed, from actual sleep, an area where several competing trackers can struggle. Blood pressure estimates varied approximately 5-8% versus an upper-arm cuff, while SpO2 comparisons showed approximately +/-3% deviation; these remain wellness estimates, not diagnostic readings. The lightweight, screenless design stays comfortable overnight, with interchangeable textile and silicone straps. Battery life reaches up to 40 days with five-minute heart-rate sampling and approximately 12-14 days with one-minute sampling; heart rate becomes continuous during recorded activities. Charging takes approximately 45 minutes. The free Oxiline app makes daily metrics easy to understand and offers deeper analysis, PDF exports, AI insights, and tracking alongside compatible Oxiline smart scales. Its 10-meter water-resistance specification supports swimming and ordinary water exposure, and heat resistance enough for saunas and steam room. The eight-user evaluation is encouraging, although broader independent validation remains limited.
