The ADT Medical Alert Plus is an in-home medical alert system that operates on a 4G LTE cellular network, eliminating the need for a traditional landline. During clinical evaluation, the system demonstrated high reliability in connecting to ADT's UL-certified monitoring centers. The base station serves as a two-way communication hub with a high-fidelity speaker and microphone, facilitating clear interactions with emergency operators. A distinctive feature of the ADT system is its integrated ambient temperature monitoring; the base unit can detect extreme fluctuations in indoor temperature and notify the monitoring center, providing a safeguard against environmental health risks such as heatstroke or hypothermia. While the 600-foot range from the base to the wearable button is more limited than some competitors, it provides adequate coverage for standard-sized homes and immediate outdoor spaces like porches. The hardware is designed for maximum simplicity, featuring oversized, tactile buttons and clear status lights for users with visual or dexterity impairments. However, the system does not include a consumer-facing smartphone app, focusing instead on traditional professional oversight.
