The GetSafe Select system represents a significant departure from traditional medical alert hardware by prioritizing environmental triggers over wearable buttons. During our clinical evaluation, the Select bundle-which typically includes a central 4G LTE base station, voice-activated wall buttons, and standard wall-mounted panic triggers-was tested for its ability to capture emergency calls across multiple rooms. The system's primary technical advantage is its high-decibel listening technology, which allows users to summon help simply by shouting a 'call for help' phrase. In performance trials, the voice trigger was highly effective in standard residential acoustics, though efficacy can vary in very large or high-ceilinged spaces. Because GetSafe is owned by Bay Alarm Medical, it utilizes the same TMA Five Diamond-certified monitoring infrastructure, ensuring professional-grade response speeds. The 1,300-foot range between the base station and wall components provides comprehensive coverage for large floor plans. While the system removes the stigma and maintenance of a wearable, it does require a more involved initial installation process to ensure wall buttons are placed at appropriate heights for fall accessibility.
