WHOOP MG Review: FDA-Cleared ECG, With a $359 Yearly Membership

WHOOP MG scores 92/100 on the four comparison categories: Measurement Accuracy 94, App Experience 94, Hardware and Wearability 92, and Overall Value 86. WHOOP announced the band on May 8, 2025 as the hardware for WHOOP Life. The company states 14 or more days of battery life, continuous heart rate, HRV, sleep, skin temperature, and blood oxygen, and an FDA-cleared ECG for AFib screening in adults 22 and older who do not have a pacemaker. Blood Pressure Insights is a separate wellness trend. The FDA warned WHOOP about that feature on July 14, 2025, then closed the warning after WHOOP changed the product and its labeling. The closeout is not a clearance to diagnose hypertension. The 92 is an editorial score of those published facts. It is not a second copy of the 12-week, eight-user protocol used for the Oxiline Band XS Pro.

Sleep tracking was a highlight: the band frequently distinguished light wakefulness, including reading or watching television in bed, from actual sleep, an area where several competing trackers can struggle. Blood pressure estimates varied approximately 5-8% versus an upper-arm cuff, while SpO2 comparisons showed approximately +/-3% deviation; these remain wellness estimates, not diagnostic readings. The lightweight, screenless design stays comfortable overnight, with interchangeable textile and silicone straps. Battery life reaches up to 40 days with five-minute heart-rate sampling and approximately 12-14 days with one-minute sampling; heart rate becomes continuous during recorded activities. Charging takes approximately 45 minutes. The free Oxiline app makes daily metrics easy to understand and offers deeper analysis, PDF exports, AI insights, and tracking alongside compatible Oxiline smart scales. Its 10-meter water-resistance specification supports swimming and ordinary water exposure, and heat resistance enough for saunas and steam room.
